Draft Gender Equality Policy (GEP)

The National Commission for Women and Children is in the process of finalizing the draft Gender Equality Policy (GEP). The main purpose of the Gender Equality Policy is to provide overarching directives to ensure equal rights, opportunities and benefits to women and men, girls and boys and to address the gaps and inequalities existing within the family, workplace, community and in society. It is also to ensure that substantive gender equality is achieved wherein full growth and potential are achieved in the economic, social and political spheres.

So far many rounds of bilateral discussions and consultation workshops with stakeholders has been carried out. Before finalizing the draft GEP and submitting to Gross National Happiness Commission for further directives, the Commission would like to seek comments from the general public on the draft policy posted herewith till 15th February, 2018. Therefore, please feel free to share any comments on the policy. We highly value your comments
