Gender Seminar
The National Commission for Women and Children (NCWC) in partnership with Japan International
Cooperation Agency (JICA) Bhutan has been implementing “Capacity Building of Government Officials and Rural Women on Gender Mainstreaming and Empowerment of Women,” focusing on the gender mainstreaming initiatives. In line with this, a Gender Seminar was conducted on 5th March 2019 in Thimphu. Hon’ble Chairperson of the NCWC Lyonpo Dr.Tandi Dorji graced the opening of the seminar.It was also attended by Members of the Parliament, Commission Members of the NCWC, Gender Expert Group Members, Gender focal Points and officials from Civil Society Organizations. The Bhutan Gender Seminar aims to promote knowledge sharing on gender equality ideas, approaches, initiatives and issues.
