Gender and Child sensitization workshop for the Hon'ble National Council members
The NCWC conducted a day long sensitization workshop on 20th August, 2018, for the Hon'ble National Council members. The Hon'ble members were sensitized on the strategic vision and mission of NCWC, child well being and Protection in Bhutan, Gender Equality, the Child Care and Protection Act of Bhutan, the Adoption Act of Bhutan , the Domestic Violence Prevention Act of Bhutan and Concluding Observations of the CEDAW and CRC. The Hon'ble members were also sensitized on the case management of the NCWC.
The objectives of the workshop are to sensitize and garner support from the Hon'ble National Council Members:
1. On the emerging issues related to Women and Children
2. Challenges faced by the NCWC.
3. Committement from the parliament to follow up on the Concluding Observations of the CEDAW and CRC.
The workshop provided the Commission with valuable comments and advise from the Hon'ble members
