Handing and taking of Working Modality for Sustainable Operation and Management of Crèche Services to Ministry of Education
The NCWC initiated the development of workplace creches in 2015 to create conducive environment for working parents and, increase and sustain women’s participation in decision making. However, the lack of lead agency and care givers constrained the agencies to provide and sustainable services. Therefore, the Working Modality for Sustainable Operation and Management of Creches Services in Bhutan was developed by the National Commission for Women and Children (NCWC) in collaboration with Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education in 2019 to address the existing challenges in establishment and management of workplace creches. The modality identifies Ministry of Education as the lead agency for creches as per the draft Early Childhood, Care and Development strategy. The modality was endorsed by the NCWC and formally handed over to the Ministry during the 21st Commission meeting of the NCWC.
